It is amazing how many billions or Euros and Dollars ‘rich’ countries spent for their health systems. Still that is not enough to make their citizens feel ‘good’ or ‘well’. To achieve that blissful state of content consumerism we spent even more billions of money - and I am not talking about going on vacation.

Since the early 1980’s the Wellness Industry has exploded and become the more successful little sister of hardcore psychological treatments, retreats and soul searching - which started in the 1960’s. Wellness promises stress relief without any work - you just spent money to feel better, but not to improve anything that might have created any stressful situation in the first place.

What I find especially charming is that many poor countries are now selling their great healing traditions and natural lifestyle to overweight and overstressed western clients. Many places European colonialists considered primitive, naturalistic and backwards just a mere 150 years ago - are now charming and adorable. Keep those places like they are - as long as they are reachable via plane and Internet. Please stay primitive and cheap - so we can come to you for proper breathing and an excellent back rub …
