The total smoking ban for restaurants and public buildings can’t come soon enough. I don’t mind smokers, everybody has the right to kill themselves or indulge some drug addiction.
But I hate the smoke. When I dine in a nice restaurant I hate the smoke while eating - and I hate it when I come back home. I have to get rid of all my clothes, wash them and even bring my jacket to cleaner to combat the smell.
Not long to wait now for the total ban. In the summer months I could at least frequent places where I could sit outside but during the cold months I only had the options of braving the smoke, stay at home or try my best to find smoke-free places which were few and far between here in France.
And no, like you I’m not anti-smoker, but I’m DEFINITELY anti-smoke and I wish some of the taxes on cigarettes could be redistributed for laundry bills 
@anotsoperfectstranger: In the open it’s less of a problem, like sitting in a Biergarten - but these days it’s simply dreadful.
