Red, which is such a strong color (if in doubt, just see a picture of Velasquez’s ‘Innocent X’) gets dilluted by adding white. That’s how you get pink.
It’s strange when you come to think of “RED”, as a color, often used to denote the most intense of the human passions (love included, but not the only one) and then contrast this vision against the paleness of pink colors… It’s like taking away “RED’s life”. Try it. Take the pope’s portrait, remove all red. Replace it with pink colors. What happens to the pope???
Imagine a gory movie (Tarantino, perhaps?), but all the gory scenes splatting PINK blood all over the screen… I don’t think I would have stomach to see such a movie!
