Gustave Dore is a giant. He created amazing illustrations and paintings. Too bad that modern publishers hardly illustrate their books anymore.

'Gustave Dore – Andromeda'

I fell in love with his works in London at a display of his engravings.
Since then I have gotten editions of Paradise Lost, The Inferno, Paradise Lost, a Dore Bible and a copy Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner just to have original representations of his works in context. A god among artists.

@Ed Hazell: Thanks for your comment.

It is an amazing painting – I love it. Dore is truly an universal artist.
