Name anything Mohammed - and incite a Jihad against you and your country

Once again the somewhere a Muslim mob goes bonkers and wants to kill someone for an insult. Once again the West shakes it’s head and tries to understand all the madness about a Teddy Bear named Mohammed. Once again we secular people try to reassure ourselves that only a few radical Muslims are willing to kill poor Gillian Gibbons. Once again the secular people in the West fail to understand that Religion can’t be tolerated, because it will always breed idiocy and violence.

Highly recommended: read some of the comments on the BBC website regarding the current situation with Ms Gibbons and Sudan. Plus: learn how governments once again play the religious card to make petty politics.

Now hold on a minute! Religion has been the social glue for many and you don’t cut off your head if you have a headache. There are positive aspects to religion as a social glue that keeps us all from social entropy. I remind you that Islam is not a product of the west. The west is going fine in regards to tolerance. What Islam needs is a Martin Luther like reformation. Sadly Mohammed (pbuh) does not allow for any modernity.

@Jackanapes: Hello again and thanks for the comments.

Social glue. Hmmm. Altruism is the oldest form of social glue and I would go with Richard Dawkins (and his book the Selfish Gene) here. There is no social entropy without religion. Most European countries are hardly religious these days or guided by former Christian values. Nevertheless we have a good life around here and social integration is still working quite nicely.

I totally agree on the Martin Luther thing with you. Without Luther Europe would have never made it’s ascension to a world power back then. But Luthers ethics were very cruel as well. When there were some peasant revolts here in Germany (Freeeeedoooom!) he actually supported the aristocracy and their brutal ways.

Islam or better say the Muslim world WAS once extremly sophisticated, tolerant and advanced. But they lost it to pure religious fundamentalism and infighting.

I think the real problem is not only religion, but the abuse of religion by elites to grab even more power or by fundamentalists to keep out change.

Let me swing to Tibet for a moment: although we all love the charming Dalai Lama (and he is a great man) his country fell down, because the religious elites keep that caste system for too long. Social change and technology were kept out by elites to cemment their status quo.

The religion was every time only a excuse, to have the will of power! What is the result of the Luthers reforms today: first encyclica from Razzie-pope?! : protestant church is not a church and make the mass with the back to the people ..and in Latin?!

One idea! ..like this fine t-shirt here! world-wide-community posted a lot of jokes from Jesus ( hi like that), Mohamed, Buddha and so on… and then - in a short time, there exist more jokes and caricatures, as exist available fundamentalist or other stupid people ! The first good spam-attack!!

@mo: Ratzing is a catholic fundamentalist. No more, no less.

Regarding your website idea: I am sure a suicide bomber is already on it’s way to you.
