St. Nikolaus & Krampus vs little Orangeguru

It is an old tradition here in Germany that someone dresses up as St. Nikolaus and his scary companion Krampus bring gifts to the kids.

This is actually a pretty scary thing - I have seen grown woman and man weep and sacred to death when facing (a student dressed up as) St. Nikolaus.

I also still remember that evening as well. All the other kids ran away and were nowhere to be seen while I had to hold St. Nikolaus staff and  listen to what he had to say about my ‘performance’ since his last checkin.

When he left and the other kids appeared again they got some presents too - which I thought was pretty unfair since I alone had faced the red giant …

so what… you had the longer cudgel with your orange shirt, longer than the ugly Rubrechts joystick! …a first lesson from the holy man in humility! My traumatic experience was the fact, that this guy knews all my sins and he had red out all my secret badness. After this spectacle i was a good boy for at least 2 weeks!

@mo: And you have been a bad boy ever since … maybe some other guys with big sticks should come and teach you some manners on a regular basis. But you can always book a dominatrix to do the job as well …

the first -and last- time i saw krampus and nikolaus in my childhood was behind the sofa of my parents’ living-room. somebody rang the bell, my siblings and me, awaiting for something nice and exciting, opened the door and a monster came up the steps. a plastic masc with a plastic beard with a plastic voice!!

we loved it!

cutie!!! :)

@zoee: I think I’ll need to hire am Krampus for you next year … just for kicks …

you can hire me. i’d love to kick you.
