The Grumpy Sick Guy Myth

myth_grumpy_sick_men

We only get grumpy when we are sick, because we want be by ourselves. Overly protective and motherly females can be very annoying when one is trying to die in peace …

It must be a “male” thing.
Grumpiness can also result after loosing one’s independence or when suffering lots of pain.

@Judi: Nah, I have to object your honor! I had the privilege of playing ‘nurse’ for some sick girl friends. And you ladies can be very grumpy too when sick … or falls that under the category ‘bitchy’? ;-)

Yeah. I guess being sick can really make a person irritable. My husband wants to be left alone when he is sick. Other than offering food or any assistance two or three times a day, I have learned to leave him be. But for myself … when I am sick or injured, I would appreciate a little mothering.

I am always appreciative of someone who offers to help with an open heart. I feel needy and a bit guilty when I have to ask for help, but if someone offers on their own it is much easier to gratefully accept.

@Judi: Just call me if you need some mothering … I do fantastic cooking and very annoying healing songs. All the people that received my musical blessings were healed in an instant!

Wow. Food and song and instant blessings. What could be better? Thanks for the great offer. Don’t be surprised if you actually get a call one day! :-)

I can’t wait till one of my boys will be able to fix whatever is wrong with my mailbox so i will start getting your regular updates again.

Every blessing to you at Christmas and on the New Year.
