Well I am glad that you have had the front to blog this,
I have been going around feeling like mean old Scrooge,
with a sinking feeling as the town decorated itself
with lights, because they LOVE Christmas so much.
Once a few big places would put on a show.
When I was a kid we would go into the city to
look at the display Myer’s put on every year.
The town council would sometimes do a display too.
Now everyone can afford to just keep adding more
and more strings of lights,
over their roof, and around their windows,
through their garden, coating there house
with flashing and twinkling lights.
An extravaganza to demonstrate the cheapness of lights
brought all the way from China
and the relatively low cost of electricity.
@Lisa: The waste just drives me mad …
No fakes and no insults please. Thanks!
