BBC documentary / 50 min

Heidegger - the last of Germany’s great Philosophers and weird thinkers. Although he had some great insights - he totally failed to see the dangers of Fascism.

I can`t understand, that a greatness of mind like Heidegger was taken by Hitler… maybe, it comes a little bit from his new discovery of his philosophy to the potentialities?!
In this time, everything (from his angle of view) was new and in the beginning… but i can not understand it…

….or maybe this strong not conscious urge from ´the will to power` also by Heidegger ?! who knows?

@mo: I think the documentary made a valid comment on Heidergger’s duality: he was a great thinker, but he also was an ignorant sucker for power. A person could be both. I still think he should have been punished for his war crimes and bad treatment of his old mentor … bastard!

This was my priority intention. when i suck the documentary - to discover more about this duality…
And you think it comes from E. Husserl (his mentor)? …hmm! than you understand more, than me!

@Mo: I haven’t read enough about Husserl to really answer your question. Sorry!
