Just one more year of President Shrub …

wa_bush_the_cowboy

Just one more year with this most terrible of modern American Presidents and his evil Overlord Dick Cheney.  The list of scandals and deaths in his name is incredible. But I am really wondering if a regime change will really change anything?

The military addiction and capitalist mechanism of congress and the industry won’t be changed.

Unless the US military MASSIVLY reduces it’s foreign bases - and it’s budget get’s cut in half (and it would still be the biggest on this planet) nothing will change.

…and the worst of all: this stupid Mister Shrub is in a deep belief about his holy sense of mission!

@mo: That’s another reason why I think American politics won’t change much, because the vast majority is still on the Christian trip and believes that the US of A is the chosen country.

´Christian trip` ..yeah! and partly with crazy kinds of Christian-persuasion?!! …but how often is the religion only a disguise to get more power and money?!
And this fact exist in a lot of ´nations` - but admittedly, in the USA means this a big danger!

@Mo: Let’s formulate it the other way around. For anyone who has or seeks power religion is a brilliant tool to achieve it.

I hope the American’s use reason at the poll booths this time.

See where faith got us :(

I don’t know if Americans are regaining control of their sanity or not.As a nation we are not yet ready to discuss the import issues of the day and workout mutually acceptable solutions to those problems. The 2006 elections indicate some movement back to rationality but whether enough people will demand realistic solutions and comptent government remains to be seen.

@RichMc: I wonder if sanity will return. The cultural change never stops - it’s just a question in which direction the pendulum swings? More conservative or religious - or liberal and progressive …
