The great nothing is coming - how do you prepare for it?

spiritual_the_great_nothing

The final destination of all spiritual journeys is the great big nothing.

Nothing - everything dissolves, there are no needs, no wants, no pleasures, no objects, no people, no you. There is no need for eternal bliss, because you, the need for it and the very concept are dissolved as well.

But is this really spiritual - or rather natural. Death dissolves you as well - totally and eternally.

So as a spiritual person do you really need to comfortable with death and the big nothing? It will happen to you if you want it or not. If you prepare for it or not. If you are at peace with yourself or not.

Maybe preparing for the big nothing is a waste of your lifetime. Life while you life. Death will take care of itself and you. Big nothingness indeed.

The wages of sin is death. Hellfire is not some eternal place of suffering as it is a true death. You see the Creator intended that all are to live eternally. Look at the great image of God that man has. We can take anything and use our creative imagination to shape and change things to the gestalt of a greater potential. That is the real meaning of God’s eternal sacrifice of His Son. A means to offer eternity augmenting Gods creation if you only accept the grace of Jesus death on the cross. According to the bible everyone who has ever lived are only in the sleep of the first death. None have truly died the second death that is consumed in hellfire. When Atheist require proof of God they do not see the big picture of how that would take away free choice in choosing eternity. And that free choice would be critical if you consider an eternity with a God you did not believe in and do not want.

@Jackanapes: Let me rephrase your words …

When Atheist Christians require proof of God nature they do not see the big picture of how that would take away free choice in choosing eternity sanity. And that free choice would be critical if you consider an eternity with a God an enlightened life without fear of fictional gods you did not believe in and do not want.

Fixed that for you! ;-)

Yes you have fixed it so that the death of entropy will envelope us all in the godless world of man’s transient lust.

Atheism is in denial of the true nature of man. Can we all live in the ethical ways of secular humanism? I am sure many can live that way and have deep moral principles. But if a Heavenly Father is not replaced with something be it secular humanism or the eightfold path you will find many who don’t want to follow any moral law. There is the social entropy I talk of. The energy lost in the back skater of anarchism.

@Jackanapes: Sorry, I am not interested in answering your preachings and circular arguments.

You won’t get from me an inch - I am simply not interested in religious dogma or discussing all these lame arguments that atheism is bad etc.

Simply not interested in that “discussion”.

I am sorry you feel that way as I find education has a thirst for debate and a good challenge yet if one feels educated enough then there is nothing new to find out there. Solipsism can be like that. I genuinely thought that this blog was to illicit response and I am sorry to have troubled you.

@Jackanapes: Sorry, I will not for for such simple rhetorics, like accusing me of a closed mind.

But religion and it’s dogmas don’t evolve, their “truths” are based on unprovable fantasies. There is nothing to discuss but fantasy. We can discuss if the Bible or Lord of the Rings are good fiction / fantasy stories.

But I not going to waste any time with religious dogmas from the iron, while modern philosophy, society and science has hugely evolved.

Preparing for the big nothing is living a delusion. No person on earth will accept a job where he is promised to received his remuneration only after his death, yet that is what believers do.

To believe in something of which there is no proof whatsoever sounds infantile, to say the least. It’s a waste of time and especially money to prepare for the great nothing, but hey, don’t tell believers that. They will gladly fork out their tithes as down payment on the pastors new car

;)

@Luci: Thanks for your comment.

I think illusion play an important role in the human psyche. Some people call it hope, other call it lying to yourself.

Often we need mental / emotional “images” to help ourselves over pain or things we don’t understand. These images evolve into ideas, concepts and whole religions.

It is a nice image to have an all loving and all caring Über-Father in heaven, but it is wishful thinking. Freud was right, when he said that most religions are based on a quest to find some Über-Parents …
