The History of Blogging

blogosphere_evolution_of_the_internet

I think this excellent graphic explains it all. Too bad all this great technology is used for “funny” pictures and trivia. There never has been a golden age of knowledge, a highly intelligent and educated mass of people. But at least for those who crave knowledge live and learning has become much easier.

Let the rest blog and twitter about cats and American Idol.

I enjoyed the graphic representation,
and agree…what is it with people and cats,
that they need so much to share with the internet…
perhaps ,for many, it is their only brush with nature .

“A highly intelligent mass of people”
No that cannot be,
the world needs the masses to be not so intelligent
that way they are able to act as ballast,
delaying too much sudden change brought about by the more mercurial intelligent,
via the ballast of cat bloggers and so on societies are swayed gently one way or the other.

Unfortunately they are too often controlled and swayed by stupid emotive keywords
like the “Aussie battler” or “family values” or other simple phrase manipulators, known to have specific effect on the ignorant and easily prejudiced.

Well to get back to your original point
that the internet can be an interesting place
for all of us…
we merely need to sidestep
or splash on through the puddles
of ‘blog and twitter about cats and American Idol.’

@Lisa: Agreed. The good thing on the net is, that one can find many other GOOD things apart from the mainstream crap.

Thanks for Google it’s easy to find good stuff … I still remember the painful days of library index cards and microfiche to find ANYTHING.

Life and learning is so much better now!
