It has momentum, it has spirit and it has character. Great speech for the troops and the media. Let’s see if the Americans are willing to elect this guy and change their great nation.

Let the muddy fight begin!

PS: I love those reactions of MeFi.

Television Under The Swastika

Video / 55 Minutes / Spiegel TV

Especially in our modern mass media world and after the 2008 Beijing Propaganda Olympics it’s scary how little TV has changed – or that the Nazis already had figured out the basics of TV brainwashing.

Scary.

The End of the Line

spiritual_end_of_the_line

It is no surprise that most religions are centered around death – overcoming death and "preserving" lost ones by declaring them eternal souls or spirits.

We love to fool ourselves "beyond" death. Even in the age of modern science and medicine we try to prolong the line, no matter the cost and even pain to old and dying people.

Death is the ultimate barrier. And we should culturally, spiritually and medically face it with more dignity, wisdom and openness.

We all will die – and we shouldn’t be ignored and discarded by society nor by ourselves.

Olympia 2008 – where are all the spectators?

wa_olympia_2008_empty_seats_1

wa_olympia_2008_empty_seats_2

Click image for more Olympic enthusiasm!

It’s ironic: China is the country with the most people – but still many seats at the events stay empty? The organizers said that all events are sold out!

Why?

Either those with tickets can’t get in for security reasons or many tickets given to sponsors are not being used.

But those nifty Chinese communists have a solution! They have special volunteer squads who are filling the empty cheats and cheering their guts out. Looks good on global television!

Well done comrade Putin – you just fucked up another small country

wa_georgia_vs_russia

Did you watch the Olympics while Georgia was burning?

Georgia’s Primeminister Saakaschwili made a huge mistake by provoking the Russians by trying to get back the rebel provinces.

Anyone following Putin’s dirty politics in Chechnya should know better.

The whole affair is a disaster for all sides:

Georgia is no a damaged and destabilized country. I am pretty sure that the US and EU got the Russian message: no NATO membership for Georgia.

Russia has now another war at it’s hand and confirmed it’s reputation not to be trusted. It’s just as imperialistic as the US – although for other reasons.

wa_georgia_vs_russia_1

It’s always good to have some old people handy for mine sweeping.

The EU has also confirmed it’s reputation – for being a toothless club of rich people. The EU is extremely dependent on Russia’s gas and oil supply. If Putin would cut supply most of Europe would face a very cold winter – just Ukraine did several years ago.

The US also could only watch as Georgia went up in flames – and sent some help afterwards. The US has hardly any influence over Russia. Any moral or political high ground is lost since the invasion of Iraq. Putin’s Russia is currently only repeating the policy George W. Bush has implemented years ago: regime change in a country they dislike.

wa_georgia_vs_russia_2

At least I will have gas to heat my flat in winter …

And let’s not forget the huge oil pipeline that is running through Georgia which is highly important for all parties.

It all once again shows that national interests are still brutally pushed through.

Nobody really cares  about the "global village".

China will support Darfur as long as they get something from it. The US will stay in Iraq as long as they get something from it. And Russia will invade small countries as long as the get something from it.

Peace? Nah …

The Simplicity of old Summer

modern_simplicity_of_summer

Remember your childhood when you spent your vacation with your grandparents on the countryside?

You didn’t need any batteries or recharger to keep you happy and all your gizmos running. There was no constant checking for text messages or important emails. No tv series on the telly to miss or record. No social network to keep informed and presented with new tweets or images from your vacation. No digital camera or notebook to crash. No bad food in the local Starbucks or McDonalds – just yummy stuff from a local sandwich store. No global warming to worry about or carbon trading for your trip to summer …

Those were the good times.

Olympia 2008 – perfect Chinese Synchronicity and a soulless Propaganda Affair

wa_olympia_2008_perfect_synchronicity

Today China finally can show off it’s monstrous investment and preparation for the 2008 Olympics. But I am afraid that the Communist Apparatchik simply confuses good and cheerful games with a perfect performance.

Instead of international fun and chaos we get soulless Propaganda.

Already now the mood is spoiled by the Chinese human rights violation, suppression of Tibetan protests, the ongoing support for the murderous regime in Darfur and Zimbabwe and the Chinese condemnation of western support for freedom in their own country. China’s Communists hate foreign "intervention" as they call it – instead of common sense.

I just wait another four years to see the games in London.

Manhunt Detective Stories Cover

graphix_manhunt_cover_detective_stories

Let’s deconstruct this yummy pulp cover:

The male gun is directly aimed at her vagina.

Redheads are supposed to be extra sexual and her red lips and fingernails add some extra horny undertones.

Her skirt is blown away just at the right place to reveal her panties.

The same applies to her blouse to show one of her breasts.

Her unstable posture makes her easy to kick over or press her against the wall. The perfect victim.

Otherwise the cover is high art and perfectly innocent.

Those old Chinese Inventions – and how the Red Dragon lost it’s Groove and still hasn’t found it

historica_old_chinese_inventions_red_dragon

China likes to boast of it’s long lasting culture and like to claim that they have been at the front of civilization for thousands of years (nice timeline here) (although India has actually the oldest records of culture and cities).

Anyone remotely interested in history and technology knows that the old Chinese seem to have invented almost everything way ahead of Europe or were never far behind: paper, printing, movable type, crossbows, gunpowder, rockets, compass, blast furnace and cast iron – to name just the most important ones.

China with it’s man- and brainpower seemed to be destined to take over the world, but they didn’t. Instead tiny Britain conquered the Chinese giant with ease …

So what went wrong with the old Chinese?

Jacques Rogge and the whole IOC should suffer the same treatment as Chinese Dissidents: jail time and torture

wa_Jacques Rogge_IOC_Olympia_2008

The games in Beijing are a farce. China should never been chosen as a host. The Chinese communists have thrown thousands of Dissidents and Tibetans into jails to make sure there are no ‘unhappy’ protests.

In recent days there was an uproar by the global media because they don’t have free access to the net in their Olympic press center. Buhuhu! When will these journalists wake up and realize that this is NORMAL for Chinese citizens?

wa_IOC_Olympia_2008

Still the IOC clings to it decisions and plays along with the tyrannical leaders of China.

These won’t be happy games – these will be perfect games without a soul and laughter. For China it’s one huge political PR event – for internal and external propaganda.

wa_IOC_Olympia_2008_coca_cola

But not only the IOC should at least be ashamed of itself. The same is true for all the official sponsors: Coca Cola, General Electric, Johnson & Johnson, Kodak, McDonalds, Panasonic, Samsung, VISA, Omega, Addidas, VW, UPS – to name the biggest.

But these sponsor ‘worry’ that their brand may become ‘tainted’ by the games. Ohhhhh!

wa_IOC_Olympia_2008_police_tibet

Tibetan streets are still ‘tainted’ by Chinese police.

Wow. Once again I recommend these corporate types a vacation in a Chinese prison – there you will learn what real problems are and that their greed is just that greed.

Any news on the disappearing Bees?

science_bee_update

I still haven’t heard any good news about the Bees and their Colony Collapse Disorder.

So we still face a serious Bee problem here. If the numbers keep dropping like in recent years we lack enough buzzers to pollinate OUR crops and therefore keep our food production running.

We still don’t understand the CCD – and we are far from a "cure".  And even if we find the reason for their disorder – it’s still not sure if we can "heal" our little friends. Vaccination is complicated to say the least …

William-Adolphe Bouguereau – The Remorse of Orestes (1862)

William-Adolphe_Bouguereau_(1825-1905)_-_The_Remorse_of_Orestes_(1862)

1. Click player below to start the music.

2. Click the image to dive into the art.

3. Study for two and a half minutes this great piece of art and all the drama.

Poor Orestes – he isn’t a lucky chap:

In the Homeric story, Orestes, a member of the doomed house of Atreus which is directly related to Tantalus and Niobe, was absent from Mycenae when his father, Agamemnon, returned from the Trojan War with Cassandra, a Trojan Princess, as his concubine, and was murdered with an axe by his wife, Clytemnestra, in retribution for his sacrifice of his daughter Iphigeneia to obtain favorable winds to Troy for the Greek fleet. Eight years later, Orestes returned from Athens and with his sister Electra avenged his father’s death by slaying his mother and her lover Aegisthus.

According to Pindar, the young Orestes was saved by his nurse Arsinoe or his sister Electra, who conveyed him out of the country when Clytemnestra wished to kill him. In the familiar theme of the hero’s early eclipse and exile, he escaped to Phanote on Mount Parnassus, where King Strophius took charge of him. In his twentieth year, he was urged by Electra to return home and avenge his father’s death. He returned home along with his friend Pylades, Strophius’s son.

In the Odyssey, Orestes is held up as a favorable example to Telemachus, whose mother Penelope is plagued by suitors.

Orestes goes mad after the deed and is pursued by the Erinyes, whose duty it is to punish any violation of the ties of family piety. He takes refuge in the temple at Delphi; but, even though Apollo had ordered him to do the deed, he is powerless to protect Orestes from the consequences. At last Athena receives him on the acropolis of Athens and arranges a formal trial of the case before twelve Attic judges. The Erinyes demand their victim; he pleads the orders of Apollo; the votes of the judges are equally divided, and Athena gives her casting vote for acquittal. The Erinyes are propitiated by a new ritual, in which they are worshipped as Eumenides, and Orestes dedicates an altar to Athena Areia.

A Public Service Announcement to Non-Voters: you will get screwed even more by Politicians, because you are too lazy to do your part

wa_nonvoters_and_voting

There is a global political party that is constantly growing in all industrialized countries: the Non-Voters.

Their excuses are always the same: all politicians are scum bags anyway and their vote doesn’t make a difference. Only a few of them are honest enough to say that they don’t care or are simply to lazy.

Democracy depends on all our participation: even when you only need to make a cross or press your lazy thumb on a computer screen.

Always remember: you are always involved in society and the political process. If you want it or not. So if you are too lazy to participate in the process in any other way than voting – like by joining a political party or union or giving money to some pressure groups – then at least make that damn cross.

Ignorance is an ACTIVE invitation for sleazy politicians to do what they want. If you decide to sleep they won’t wait till you wake up and smell their evil coffee.

Rich China, poor China

wa_Peking_Olympia_Stadium

Click Stadium for more poverty.

China is one of the richest countries on earth with a huge amount of cash at it’s disposal. Plus the US owes China loads of money as well.

But still China is a poor country: it’s infrastructure still needs loads of work, concrete and still before it’s anywhere near European or American standards. Social security, pensions and the health systems are in shambles too.

Sure China has a huge Army, but today’s wars are fought with technology, not huge masses of soldiers.

Is anyone surprised why China’s bloody communists are so ruthlessly pushing the country forward and are not in the mood for any compromises on human rights or the environment. They finally want China to finish the Great Leap Forward that Mao and his comrades fucked up many years ago …

But for the sake of progress no tyranny is acceptable. Not even capitalistic communism …
