A Public Service Announcement to Non-Voters: you will get screwed even more by Politicians, because you are too lazy to do your part

wa_nonvoters_and_voting

There is a global political party that is constantly growing in all industrialized countries: the Non-Voters.

Their excuses are always the same: all politicians are scum bags anyway and their vote doesn’t make a difference. Only a few of them are honest enough to say that they don’t care or are simply to lazy.

Democracy depends on all our participation: even when you only need to make a cross or press your lazy thumb on a computer screen.

Always remember: you are always involved in society and the political process. If you want it or not. So if you are too lazy to participate in the process in any other way than voting – like by joining a political party or union or giving money to some pressure groups – then at least make that damn cross.

Ignorance is an ACTIVE invitation for sleazy politicians to do what they want. If you decide to sleep they won’t wait till you wake up and smell their evil coffee.

Have you ever think about, that the ´Non-Voters` are a special party too..? The declaration of this party is simply and direct… ´All this fucking parties are without any good visions and programs! – Please… is there someone, who brings a new idea ..for a better world?!`
Maybe ..someone – perhaps an underdog like Barak Obama – see this Non-Voter-Situation and find the courage to engage in an activity… ?

@mo: Well, we are not exactly living at the End of History – but the fight for BIG political ideas is over. It’s now just a question if we want to be more green, more capitalist or more social. But only to very small degrees.

I think we are somewhere between blatant American Capitalism and protective relaxed Nordic Socialism (like Sweden).

But there is still a lot to do for citizens. We should have more votes on new law and initiatives in all countries – like it’s done in Switzerland and most US states. The people and pressure groups should be able to introduce new ideas and laws into the political process WITHOUT political parties and well funded lobbyists (like the industry does all the time).

I look always for someone, who brings this great vision for a new world. A vision …as a destination – not for the next party-platform.
But it is a destination for one world, of which already p.ex. Einstein spoke…
