Dispatches: Fighting the Taliban

Channel 4 documentary / 48 minutes / 2007

An excellent report from Afghanistan. Not very cheerful, but it will give you some insight of what is like over there.

Once again it that British openness and honesty that makes this report so special and valuable.

More? Some background info from Channel 4

Very interesting… because i don`t see ever such direct reports from the war-front in Afghanistan. It´s good to see, that this freaks fight against the stupid Taliban. in general i hate any forms from war and violence - violence breeds violence…
I have some one weird experiences with the phenomenon of this Taliban. If you believe or not …i thought a long time about this unbelievable state of the Taliban-Afghanistan ..and so I let make a t-shirt (in a copy-shop) with the imprint: ´Kill a Taliban! (analogous a song from ´The Cure: Kill an Arab!) The date, when i let make this t-shirt print, was in the morning of 9/11 2001. Later, my son call me on mobile-phone: ´Have you seen, what happened …look in television …there burn one tower in NY…`
During this time, I don`t knew nothing from the relations…
But, for me, it is a mysticism experience…
After all …the history of the British colonial-time, the Afghanis fights against the Russian army, the imperialistic Zionist-American-Complex have much to do with the current situation!

@Mo: Amazing story - thanks for sharing.

Sure the British Empire is linked to Afghanistan - but the whole Taliban mess is to blame on the Americans.
