When you clone yourself only some of your genes will live on, but these have nothing to do with your personality or achievements.
You will simply die as everybody else no matter how many kids you produce.

Why Do we find such hair so sexy? Shiny long hair is a sign of a healthy person – so it’s an obvious indicator if that person is suitable for procreation. Just like for Makeup we spend gazillions of Euros for hair care products although that final piece of "warming fur" hardly needs to be pretty to warm our brains.
Since hair is tied to individualism and sexuality the military and many religions love to shave it off.

New Scientist: Bad boys can blame behaviour on their hormones
Sometimes I wonder how little we know about ourselves – or how little we integrate scientific insights into our daily lives?
Instead we are more influenced by simple urges and chemistry we like to admit or like to deal with. Aggressive and anti-social behavior is often tolerated or brutally suppressed with even more violence.
Emotional Intelligence should be as normal as treatment for “bad chemistry”. We do treat depressions much more willing than aggression, because we still consider aggression a “good” character trait in boys and good canon fodder for the military.

We humans are so often amazed by natures inventions – but we often fail to see that many creatures and plants are just transitions from one “model” to the next.
Only a few of natures experiments have been around for a long time and proven themselves worthy to continuing: the shark is one of the oldest “models”, so are the bees and crocodiles.
We humans are pretty new and I am not sure if we make it for several million years like the sharks have …

Even when the chance of intelligent life is extremely small – there are billions and billions of stars and planet out there to increase the possibility to a realistic level.
We have just learned in recent years that bacteria can survive in outer space and travel in meteors and asteroids from planet to planet – even solar systems. So the chance of these messengers of life traveling and fertilizing other planets is rather the norm instead of a rarity.
Documentary / Channel 4 / 55+ minutes
It’s always good to check from time to time who you are and who we are. Some nice insights about humans, apes, brains and our heritage in this documentary.

We share 96% of our DNA with Chimps (or even 99% according to another study) and a similar amount with many other primates. But we still treat our closet living relatives like shit and many primates face extinction from us.
We should establish a new status in our legal and scientific. Primates should no longer be classified as animals, but subhumans or sentient beings – and have almost human rights and most of all protection.

Not all animals are created equal, especially not in terms of intelligence. Nobody would consider Cows, Chicken or Snakes as especially smart.
Very different to Elephants, Squid, Chimps and most of all Dolphins. Recent stunning experiments with Dolphins have revealed that they ‘understand’ basic concepts of language and can answer questions with the capability of small kids.

An interesting scientific article about the development of breasts. No easy reading, but excellent of you want to learn more about evolutionary biology.

Since it is now scientifically proven that blonde woman are a bad influence on us males – maybe different colored woman should do something to help us escape that evil spell?
This also shines a different light on all the fake blondes out there. Woman usually say that men like them to be dumb. But in reality woman make themselves blonde to make us guys dumber. So put your cards on the table ladies: you are the ones who like dumb partners – not us!

Bacteria are everywhere. They can live in the hottest and coldest of places (even on asteroids in outer space). No other life form on this planet has multiplied as much and conquered so many different places.
Bacteria also have made all other species their hosts – and we all depends on them.

Is there such a thing as a gender gap in humor?! When I look at my personal experience as well as pop culture there are hardly any funny women around. When you look at the list of great and funny entertainers of the last twenty years – you hardly find any females in the business. Why?!
Some people attribute guys humor as a last resort to get himself a woman anyway. Even if you are ugly as hell you can’t impress the chicks if you are funny guy. Woman love funny guys.
But does that work for women as well? Does a funny ugly woman get laid, just because she can impress with her humor? I doubt it.
Socia–Biology as the real reason behind the humor gender gap?

Maybe it’s also a chick thing not to embarrass themselves in front of others? Guys have no problem farting and belching in front of a big audience. It’s a guy thing alright. But women don’t fart (loudly) and they don’t make jokes or funny faces either. At least not many. And most women don’t seem to know funny stuff or are willing to perform any practical jokes.

It could be an historical thing: women were not allowed to act in certain cultures. Female roles were playing by guys like in Japan, China and many parts of Europe. Also the Clowns and Jesters were mostly a male affair.
But the woman are slowly catching up in TV, movies and real life. I love Tina Fey’s writing and acting in ‘30 Rock’ … but she is still a minority compared to the Stephen Colberts, John Stewards and Stephen Frys of this planet …

Our minds are pretty pleased when our physical appearance causes a big stir in the other sex. To be desired and to be ‘hot’ seems very much on our ego’s agenda – although procreation is the real story behind all this parading and showing off. Your DNA wants to spread and clone itself. Funny that the mind is so hooked to that job as well … Mind over Matter – DNA over Mind …
In our modern societies getting a high public rating for your DNA has now become more important than actually spreading it. Styling, ego surfing and ego presentation now lead only to casual sex, but not to babies in rich countries.

BBC News: Diet choices ‘written in genes’
Not you choose what to eat, but your cravings and your DNA have something to say about that as well. But it’s still no excuse to eat only crap. We might not have a completely free will – but we are not just mindless eating machines at all.

Every few weeks you can read about some new form of bacteria or virus getting immune against medical defenses. Penicillin ain’t the big cure it used to be. More and more little buggers get resistant – and we actually help them. Hospitals turn out be excellent breeding and training grounds. All kind of diseases, people and dugs meet for a big get together and exchange of ‘code’. Since evolution does happen – sometimes at an alarming rate – these buggers already kills thousands of people every year.
The big fear and real possibility is that one of these days one of them leaves the ‘lab’ and visits us all. If it’s just an influenza virus that would be bad enough – but it could also be something more lethal.

Overall reproduction and the spreading of our genes dictates how we select partners. Most people think we are mostly turned on by money, full lips, big tits and fat wallets. But our quest for good partner goes much deeper.
But we also sniff out compatible partners: we can judge by the smell of a person if their genetic code gives our offspring’s a greater variety and therefore a better chance for survival. The greater the variety the sexier the smell.
So perfume may help a bit to enhance your chances, but overall you can’t hide your genetic code/small forever.

It’s a feature – not a bug!
My basic question: Is there a religion without fear?
Although we seem to find the motive or promise of love or eternal bliss in so many religions – we also find the element of fear and some form of damnation in them as well. There always seems a special place for the faithful: like Heaven or Valhalla. Even the concept of Nirvana is in it’s metaphorical meaning similar to a blessed place – compared to the wheel of reincarnation.

Did you know that grass is a relativly new ‘invention’? Dinosaurs didn’t chew it, but the around the ice age it got pretty popular.
