Once again I am getting all wet this so called summer.

I want more hotness!

Remember your childhood when you spent your vacation with your grandparents on the countryside?

You didn’t need any batteries or recharger to keep you happy and all your gizmos running. There was no constant checking for text messages or important emails. No tv series on the telly to miss or record. No social network to keep informed and presented with new tweets or images from your vacation. No digital camera or notebook to crash. No bad food in the local Starbucks or McDonalds - just yummy stuff from a local sandwich store. No global warming to worry about or carbon trading for your trip to summer …

Those were the good times.

We humans are social herd animals - we always seem to move in crowds and are never to far away from a fellow Mensch.

Especially during vacation time a modern paradox comes to light: we travel in huge crowds to ‘empty’ beaches to enjoy the ’silence’ and beauty of nature to recharge ourselves.

But neither a beach during vacation time nor airports are hardly relaxing environments. Add some screaming kids and your vacation is perfect. Or is this some form of "positive stress’ some people are talking about?

After several weeks of old, rain, storms and even floods - summer has arrived in Germany. Boy, is it hot in here …

Some nostalgic summer music - I think only Germans can make a depressing reggae summer song with loads of Weltschmerz.

Ideal was part of the so called Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave) - but was never as popular like Nena or Trio (remember Da Da Da?).

Summer, sunshine, sunburns …

It’s amazing how much chemicals we spill each year to avoid the effects of soaring sunlight on our skins. And how much more we waste on treating sunburns.

Why not simply move OUT of the sunlight to avoid damage to your precious pale office complexion? Or pre-roast yourself before dragging your sorry ass into the sun? Going from pale cavemen to roasted super model in just 14 days is not recommended.

We just had winter solstice and started a new year - can we have summer soon! Please? Pretty Please?! I miss freestyle jogging with my friends … a lot …
